Although the lyrics may seem depressing, they are metaphors for what a man is willing to do for the love of a woman. I remember this song from back when I was about 5 years old! It was a classic then just like it is now. My dad would sing it to me.
My grandfather would sang it to my father also. This is the perfect example as to why I enjoy this type of music so much. Mariachi music is timeless it just doesn't go out of style. The entire family can appreciate it.
